As the Call Committee begins formulating its methodical approach for candidate interviews, the Synod also now begins background reviews of all nominated candidates for Holy Trinity’s pastoral position – those nominated by Holy Trinity members, those by self-nomination, and those by Synod nomination. Holy Trinity is not limited by the synodical process, but the Call Committee is committed to going down this path – to the extent it continues to work in the best interest of the congregation. By all regards the most efficient and cost-effective method by which to initially proceed, it also imparts a reasonable continuation of the working relationship established between Holy Trinity, the Minneapolis Area Synod and the ELCA.
Members are reminded that copies of the COMPASS Team’s comprehensive congregational report – which has been foundational for the Call Committee’s work – may be obtained from the library. The process for receiving names of candidates for the pastoral position through the congregation is now complete. These names will be considered within the total pool of suitable candidates.
Having discerned the extensive work of the COMPASS Team’s report, completed the integration of that material into the Congregational Profile, and considered programmatic staffing options, the Call Committee now focuses on identified ministry priorities and skills as we proceed with interview preparation.
